For Fans Of: Ella Langley, Lizzie McAlpine, Taylor Swift
ABOUT THE SONG:
“Touch Me” explores intimacy as a language of its own — the quiet trust, vulnerability and reassurance that can exist between two people who know each other deeply. Rather than focusing on grand gestures, the song finds meaning in closeness, comfort and the feeling of being completely seen by another person. Wrapped in warm, organic textures, it captures a softer kind of romance built on emotional connection and everyday tenderness.

PRESS RELEASE:
Magnhild Finds Beauty in the Quiet Language of Love on New Single “Touch Me”
Norwegian singer-songwriter Magnhild returns Aug. 21 with “Touch Me,” a warm, deeply personal love song built around intimacy, trust and the kind of connection that often speaks louder than words.
Rooted in the emotional tradition of singer-songwriters, “Touch Me” finds its strength in the details. Acoustic guitar, warm harmonies and the aching sweep of pedal steel frame a song that explores intimacy not as a grand romantic gesture, but as the private language that develops between two people who know one another completely.
“‘Touch Me’ was inspired by being in a relationship where physical closeness became a language of its own,” Magnhild said. “I wanted to write about intimacy in a way that felt gentle, honest and emotionally connected rather than dramatic.”
Rather than dressing that emotion in oversized production, “Touch Me” leaves space for the story to lead. Its acoustic foundation and understated instrumentation give the song a familiar, almost timeless quality while remaining distinctly contemporary.
“For me, the song isn’t just about being touched physically,” she said. “It’s about feeling safe, desired and completely seen by another person.”
That distinction gives “Touch Me” its emotional depth: knowing someone well enough to recognize what they need without explanation and finding comfort, vulnerability and desire in allowing another person completely into your world.
The recording came together across sessions in Kristiansand and Oslo, with additional parts recorded remotely. Live backing vocals add warmth and a sense of human connection, while synth textures and pedal steel broaden the arrangement without overpowering the intimacy at its center.
The pedal steel becomes one of the song’s defining voices, weaving through the track with a romantic, yearning quality that connects traditional roots instrumentation with Magnhild’s modern singer-songwriter sensibility.
At the center remains Magnhild’s intimate, conversational vocal and a lyric about two people close enough that a gesture, a look or a touch can say what words cannot.
Originally from the Norwegian island of Stord, Magnhild has steadily built a catalog centered on storytelling and emotional connection. Following her 2024 debut single, “Maybe,” she explored isolation and longing on “17” before continuing that evolution with “Ending.”
With “Touch Me,” the songwriting turns even more intimate — warm, organic and quietly assured, with the focus firmly where singer-songwriter music has always been strongest: on the story.
“Touch Me” will be released worldwide Aug. 21 through Soundcrest Music Group.
